Is it REALLY necessary??? I mean, if you set the "time alignment" to a certain point in your vehicle(say... drivers' seat for exsample). Wouldnt it sound crappy if you sat in the rear(of the vehicle)???

Sorry, no big deal... just wondering guys haha

As Duran stated, the alignment is really supposed to be set for the primary listener, all else is disregarded.

I've never used time alignment before, and don't feel very motivated to go out of my way to get an HU with that capability or anything. Maybe in my SQ journey I'll change my mind and find it necessary, but in general I see any sort of processing or EQ as an acoustic band aid, and time alignment IMO is over hyped. Thats just my outlook on it currently.

I'm also one of those who prefers listening to music on pair of point source drivers, instead of a 2k watt, 7.1 channel, THX certified system.

I know some people get really into sound processing. Not me.
